Well had a great day here but then again any day is good living up here in the north. Spent most the day with family. I did though sneak off for a bit to my shop as I got a used planner for my Christmas Present this year. My boys bought it for me along with my oldest boys Fiancee. So sure made my day. Its an older machine but heavy cast iron one as I didn’t want one of those new light CTC ones. This one is taking a bit of work to get working properly but almost there now. Just need a couple new belts and should be up and running. Well it’s running now but this is just preventative maintenance. I did run a few boards through it today and got to say it sure worked like a charm. I also had to shorten the one chain that drives the in-feed rollers, not a big deal but the way it was it wouldn’t even pull the wood through. Probably that is why the fellow sold it. Thing is, if a fellow or gal puts their minds to these things they can end up with some real nice equipment for a minimal cost. Now finishing off the day chatting to my lovely wife and my youngest boy Karl. My oldest had to leave for home as they had to go to work. But I had a good time with them while they were here. So better go, talk soon and again Merry Christmas.
Well Christmas is almost here. We had the boys up for a visit, the oldest has left for home and the youngest is staying for a week. Had a real good time while they were here just not long enough. Yesterday we had heavy rain but the good part it got rid of some ice dams on my roof. One more day like that would have cleaned it right up. Oh well that’s the way it goes. This morning though woke up to about five more inches of snow so that guaranteed a white Christmas. My speed for the weather station is froze up so won’t be able to upload the wind speed till it thaws out a bit. The directional works though after a bit of work. Talk Soon
Looks like a wee bit of sunshine here for today and warming up tomorrow and on Sunday. Kind of hoping for that so the ice dams on my roof will melt. Guess I got to do something about them next year. Talk Soon.

Just a heads up on what’s to come this Saturday in my Column. It is a story that I am sure you will all enjoy about Finding the true meaning of Christmas. This Saturday so pick up a copy and enjoy. Talk Soon
Hi Folks well thought I would let you know that my Christmas story called, The Christmas Sleigh will be in this weeks paper. So that gives you a bit of time to look for it and pick up a copy. Talk Soon
Well temperatures have dropped here since supper and was down to -3Below old scale, rising a wee bit now. Kind of nice though with this wood heat as it is a constant heat. The nice thing also is we have an old gravity fed furnace from years ago. Works great and once you come into the house from outside you are warm. Talk Soon
Monday Night
Rather cloudy and very cold with snow at times, accumulating a coating to an inch; breezy late
Well took a few pictures after the clean up and sure looks pretty out there. Makes one sure feel good to be alive and able to enjoy the simple things in life.
On the weather forecast below just remember when it says rain this time of year, it really means snow, just that the station doesn’t recognize the word snow. Maybe some day will get one that does. Once the temperature goes above 32F then it will read right.
Well I got to say we had the coldest night this year last night. Got down to around -12 Below old scale. Kind of makes a fellow or gal appreciate a warm house. The old wood furnace here is perking away along with the one in the shop. I keep the one in the shop going, just in case the urge hits to do some work. In this kind of weather though it isn’t to often but it’s nice just knowing I can if I decide to. Keep Warm, Talk soon.

So if you happen to be interested in wood working and see the paper in one of many stores in the North Bay area pick up a copy. Talk soon.
Well made it to town and back stopped off at the feed store while there and got two fifty lb bags so that should look after the deer we got coming around our feeder for most the winter. I don’ t feed them to much but just enough to keep them where we can see them. Almost a full day going to town so when we get back we are ready for a coffee and relax. Still cold here but the snow has stopped so that makes me smile. Talk Soon
I have decided this year to do a bit more feeding of the deer as, well my wife and I just love to sit and watch then out in our back yard. Don’t think anything is more beautiful than to sit and watch nature in it’s fullest. Guess go and pick up a bag or two of cracked corn, as our boys are coming up in a week for Christmas so might get a few more come round so they can have a good look at them. Something they don’t have down in the big city. So best go, thought I would share this picture of one that came by earlier today. The picture was taken out side our back door facing north west, enjoy. Talk soon.
Well wife and I got to looking for some old catalogues this afternoon, finally found them, but took a bit of looking. Over the years I have kept a few of them as I like to look back and reminisce a bit. A strange thing though happened while looking for them, a picture of me back in the year 1959 turned up with me sitting on the back of my horse Jennie. I got to tell you it sure brought back memories for me. I have been writing of her and me together and some of the times we had and now finding this old picture sure is something. Guess one might say an early Christmas present. Talk Soon
