Fresh Morning Here In Port Loring

Well cool morning here down to 6 below 0 old scale.  Almost had to put my coat on walking over to the shop.  I gotta’ say though, even though it’s this cold it sure is nice out there.  When looking at things they are so clear, reason being there is no pollution in the air. The icicles just seem to glitter.  When you take a breath of air you just know it’s fresh.  Good to be alive.  Talk Soon

Good Old Garlic For What Ails Ya

Garlic  can wipe out unwanted visitors in the body and prevent disease. Garlic has been used throughout recorded history for both culinary and medicinal purposes. Its pungent, spicy flavour adds a kick to any dish. Just one clove a day will provide your body with vitamins A, B and C, as well as a vast array of minerals including selenium, iodine, potassium, iron, calcium, zinc and magnesium.

Garlic is more beneficial when it is fresh out of the bulb. As soon as it is smashed it begins to lose it potency.  Talk Soon

Staying In Where It Is Warm.

Well after a few days of heavy snow it’s finally stopped here in Port Loring and sure glad to see that it has.  Been working away here in the house where it is warm as just haven’t felt like going out. So figured it is a good time to work on my book.  The book is coming along great so far, lot of work but starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Talk Soon

Snowfall warning for North Bay – Powassan – Mattawa Continued

Warnings

North Bay – Powassan – Mattawa
6:06 PM EST Wednesday 3 December 2008
Snowfall warning for
North Bay – Powassan – Mattawa continued

Significant snowfall tonight.

A low pressure area is forecast to develop over the Great Lakes ahead of a cold front. Snow is occurring across a wide swath of central and northeastern Ontario. It will continue tonight and give 15 to locally 20 centimetres of snow to the North Bay region by Thursday morning. As of 6 PM North Bay has reported 5 centimetres. It will gradually taper off Thursday morning to a few flurries.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution due to accumulating snow and reduced visibilities in drifting and local blowing snow.

More Snow and Enjoying Life

Well not as cold this morning but more snow is in the forecast they say.  Sheesh we got over a good foot already. Since we moved here to the north this is been the worst for snow and cold weather. Not that I am complaining mind ya as we love it up here.  We also put away for winter, meaning food and firewood, so we are set pretty well for what ever mother nature can throw at us.  Good way to be. Also good to be prepared for other things to.  Well better get back at my new book.  Editing, editing, editing, is on the menu for the next few weeks. But it all gets done.  Just enjoying life here. Cold Day In Port Loring And New Book is Coming Along.

Well still cold here hovered around 14 degrees here all week.  Working away here on the upcoming new book.  Lots to do but enjoying it.  Take each day at a time as if I was looking at the whole picture it would just overwhelm me too much.  My wife too has been busy working on all the sketches for the book which in itself is a huge project but as me she takes it as it and enjoys it as it comes.  Great team we are huh?

Just Working Away On My New Book

Well been steadily working away here on my second book.  Starting to take shape finally, but still lots to do.  Lot of folks don’t realize just how much goes into the making of a book, especially if one does it all themselves.  Well I am far from doing it by myself, as I got my wife busy with sketches and my two sons working in the back ground.  Lots to be done, but through out these cold winter days, what better time could there be, than sitting in looking out and enjoying life.  Isn’t that what life is suppose to be all about?  Talk Soon

Second Book Is Coming Along

Well been steadily working here on my second book these days and got to say it’s been going along pretty good. My two sons have been there for me helping when asked, which is a good thing.  I know it would never get finished if it wasn’t for them.  For most parts I am into editing every day and entering them into the right foremat. My wife is steadily working on the sketches for the inside which consists of around sixty. One for each story.  She finished up the front cover today. Sketched it yesterday and painted it today. Looks really good. Can’t show you as of yet keeping it a secret till spring.  So being so cold outside these days it feels right to be inside looking out.  Talk Soon.

Cold Day Here In Port Loring, But Nice

Well cool morning here again. Down to 20 degrees old scale.  Was up through the night stoking the old wood furnace and enjoying every minute of it.  One thing about having the furnace we have, is that the wood is all inside your home nice and dry and easy to get at. So just need to pull on my slippers, no need to dress with coat and boots and strug off to the outside furnace through the snow and cold night air. Could never understand why anyone would even buy one of those things. Well I guess I know, their insurance brokers push it and that’s the reason for most thinking on the subject.  I figure it this way. If we did every thing the insurance brokers told us to do why would one even need insurance.  Well, as I have always said,  it all boils down to money and they sure are making it, hand over fist.  But all things come to an end, even for them, as we are seeing now.  So guess I will go and have a tea, and get back to doing what I love. Enjoy your day. Talk Soon.

Cold Morning Here In Port Loring

Well cool morning here to wake up too.  Down to 20 Degrees with a sniff of snow on the ground. I still go by the old scale, don’t like metric one bit.  All metric did is complicate things that have been prefectly good for hundreds of years, not to forget how many billions of dollars it cost us.  This is one old feller that didn’t change his ways.  Not many of us left out there either.  Got the old wood furnace going here this morning. Had to get up once last night and throw a couple more logs in the furnace.  But I enjoy doing it.  Just going to have a tea here then get back to working on my second book.  Hope you all are well.  Talk Soon
