Got my vegetable garden all planted yesterday. Was a great day to do it too. Enjoyed every minute of it. If you want to truly get on a healthy life style change all your cooking oil to coconut oil. It is the only safe oil out there today and not only that it has so many good things in it to keep you healthy. All the others including olive oil should not be used for cooking. Olive oil is fine to use in salads and things like that where you don’t have to heat it. Coconut oil also has had great results also in helping Alzheimer’s along with hundreds of other diseases. Black flies are still bugging some folks. I say some, as some folks like myself they leave alone, for most parts anyways. Mosquitoes, now them parasites, they don’t have any consideration for no body. LOL. They go where you are, inside, outside, where ever they can find ya. But there are ways of discouraging them, which I have told you in previous posts. Today my wife and I are putting in our veggie garden as tomorrow we might get a shower or two, which will set them into place nicely. So lots to do today as I have a large garden. Health tip for today. Drink lots of water, good water, not tap water with fluoride or chlorine in it. Them two chemicals are poison. Most city waters have it in it, and some bottled water, so be wary. Now here is what every one should know to find out how many ounces you should drink a day. Take your weight and divide it by two and that will tell you how much to drink. Say 150 pounds, you need to drink 75 ounces. Sounds like a lot, but it isn’t really. If you do this every day you will not only become healthy you will have more energy. Also your body will love you for it. If your in the sun you will need a bit more. Remember folks, good water. Nothing much to report. Mowing day here for us at the Walters house, so will get that out of the way this morning. Sure looks pretty when all said and done. This year wife and I planted all the seeds we collected from last year and we got a regular little nursery going in the back porch, so all our veggies will be free this year. ARNSTEIN— A 67-year-old was killed Monday around 1 p.m. when her vehicle veered off Highway 522 at Seagull Lake Road and went into the ditch, according to Ontario Provincial Police. The collision caused the vehicle to flip. According to police, it’s suspected the driver may have been in medical distress at the time of the incident. The driver was identified as Arina Howes of Loring. A post mortem will be conducted later today. Members of the OPP’s Technical Collision Investigations and Forensic Identifications Units are continuing their investigation.

Well not to much to report other than it is one great looking day out there. The black flies are out there now, but if one approaches their day right, they shouldn’t have to deal with them pesky devils to much. First off one should not wear any bug repellent or smelly colognes. Also should say if you are used to using these things, which most are now a days, that it takes a good week to get it out of your system. Best way is to use baking soda to wash your hair with and if you have to have some soap use Ivory hand soap, with no additives in it. Do that an maybe eat a bit of garlic with your food each day and you won’t have any problems with Black Flies. All in how you want to deal with things, simple as that. Well the old black flies are officially back with us for another season. Should last for around three or four weeks if things goes to plan. Then again, Mother Nature has her own set of rules and being the lady she is, she changes her mind every so often.. So all we can do is take what she hands us, an smile. The black flies are out there now, started yesterday,but still not really bothering a feller or gal, other than flying around ones head. But they will get hungry soon enough. I find the best way to help the situation is to not wear any perfume or deodorant, things like that. I only wash using ivory hand soap, with no additives. For some reason they don’t like it and I have had good luck keeping them at bay for a lot of years now. Deet, insect repellents. don’t work, if anything it attracts them and makes it worse. Around town not much happening. I have been busy in the old shop working on a few things for our store. Keeps me heading in the right direction of life. Noticed my spinach is peaking up through the soil this morning, so wont’ be long before we can get to enjoying that. Mix them with some fresh dandelion leaves and you got yourself a salad and so healthy for you. I can’t get enough of it. My wife even makes our own dressing as I don’t believe them store boughten dressings are good for you. For that matter I don’t have too much faith in the medical establishment that is out there today pushing all these so called pills, treatments and tests on folks either. When most of folks problems could be fixed by just eating right and living a good life style. But to each their own I always say. Have a great day my friends

Our community center is coming along great these days. We now have our office in one part of the new building, which is a great new feature for our community. The community center itself is looking good and well maintained thanks to Kerry Booth as that is his project and have to say he has done a great job in getting it built and cared for. We are lucky to have him on the LSB Board. Not to forget all the others on the Board as they all have done their out most for the past few years in bettering our area. It has been a pleasure working with them all and hope to continue to do so in the coming months. Also at our Community Center for those that would be interested in using it for one of your events or projects feel free to get in touch with Kerry anytime to make the necessary arrangements. Thing is folks, this is your Community Center, yours to use and enjoy. With in the next few weeks we will even have brand new play ground equipment for the children all set up, just off to once side of the Center where you come in. There is also washrooms now for them events, womans and mens, even wheel chair accessible.
