Good Morning Port Loring. Rain has made its appearance and will stay with us for a couple days. But in saying that, we do need it as the lakes are down some, mother nature needs to look after her own and it is pretty dry out there. We humans can’t complain, as we have had our share of nice weather this summer. Winds are calm this morning coming in from the south east. Temperature this morning is at 54 degrees or 12 Celsius. Will stay in the low 60’s pretty much all day. Still not to bad out there temperature wise. Barometer has been falling and is still falling slowly. Sitting now at 28.85 in Hg. Fishing & hunting if you are able to get out there will be good from 2:11 PM till 4:11 PM then again from 7:08 PM till 8:08 PM. I give it today a three star average, out of five.

Good morning Port Loring. Well woke up to some cloudy skies but I can see glimpses of blue up there. Today we will be with some clouds, but sunshine also.  Temperatures will be in the upper 60s today, but still very nice. Winds are calm again this morning, which makes it nice for boating, coming in from the South, changing to the South East a bit later on in the day.  That will bring in some showers for either later today or tomorrow.  So if you got some work to do outside, this would be a good time to get it done up.  Barometer was falling slowly, but now holding steady.  At the moment it is sitting at 29.18 in Hg.  Fishing and hunting today….well it will be the best day of them all this month.  I give it a five star out of five. NO Reason why not to hook on a few big ones let me tell ya .  Just wished I was able to go out there today, but I loaned my car to my son while I get his fixed up with some brakes and things.  His don’t have a hitch on it.  Well I can’t complain I have been out there a lot this year.  Anyways the best times to be out there today will be from 1:26 PM till 3:26 PM and then again for an hour at 6:33 PM till 7:33 PM. Just goes to show you what mother nature can do if she wants too. This morning the winds are calm, coming in from the West. Today will be warm in the 70s with lots of sunshine. The barometer is holding steady at 29.44 in Hg a good sign for sure. Good morning. Hope you all slept well. I have to say I slept in a bit this morning. Was so quiet out there and them sheets feeling so good, I just couldn’t get myself out of bed. But that’s ok. Weather is nice and sunny again this morning. Winds are coming in from the South West at about 6 MPH. Today should be getting up into the 70s. Barometer is steady an sitting at 29.47 in Hg this morning. Sure sign of nice weather.  The old weather stick says fishing and hunting times today will be a lot better than it has been. I will give it a three star rating this morning, out of five. The first good times to be out there will be from 11:20 AM till 1:20 PM and then again for an hour at 5:24 PM till 6:24 PM.

Sun has been up for an hour or so and skies are nice an blue from where I am sittin’ Winds are calm again this morning but there has been a change in the direction. this morning they are coming in from the South West. Should make it a nice day to be out on the lakes. Temperatures should get up into the 70s again today. Barometer is pretty well staying steady here this morning at 29.90 in Hg. The old weather stick says fishing & hunting will start at  10:38 AM and go till around 12:38 PM then for an hour at 5:02 PM till 6:02 PM. Great times today to put a few fish in the frying pan or a grouse or two in the freezer. Nothing more tastier than either one of the my way of thinking. Yesterday it was so nice I washed and waxed my car, an then took a drive to Powassan. I have to tell ya folks the leaves are so beautiful in colour this year, that my wife and I had to just stop the car and take it all in. They won’t be here long though, as they are about half gone now, so if you want to see what nature has to offer and clear you minds of clutter, well….. get yourself moving. While out there not only take in the colours, but take in the smells and feel of the sun on your face, there isn’t nothing better my friends, have a great day.

Not much movement around our town here this morning, usually I can hear trucks, cars and things moving up and down our road, but this morning is quiet for a change. Ok by me though, as I would sooner have it this way. Weather today will be sunny and warming up into the 60s, tomorrow will be even warmer. Winds are still from the North East but nice an calm. Good Morning. Well waking up this morning I soon realised the need for a bit of heat. That in itself told me that the weather hasn’t warmed up yet. But don’t despair, as warmer weather is heading our way.  I am thinking that all next week will be nice and even nicer as the week goes on.  Come Thanksgiving we might even see temperatures in the 70s.  So don’t put that boat to bed yet my friends.   I cleaned mine out yesterday getting it ready.  This morning temperatures are sittin’ at 37 degrees old scale or 3 degrees Celsius.  But it will warm up into the high 60’s later on. Winds are calm coming in from the North East. Barometer is holding steady at 29.26 in Hg  a good sign of nice weather for sure.  Fishing and hunting times today will be average, a one star rating, around 1:42 PM till 2:42 PM and even better from 6:10 PM till 8:10 PM. Well how you all doing here on a October 1 morning?  Going to be a nice sunny day in a bit, once Mr. Sunshine makes his appearance.  Winds are from the  North coming in at 6 MPH.  Barometer has been slowly rising all morning and sittin’ right now at 29.26 in Hg so that in itself is a good sign that things are about to change for the best. Today Best Hunting Times and Best Fishing Times will be 12:40 PM – 1:40 PM and again 5:11 PM – 7:11 PM. From now till December I will be adding the best times for Hunting along with the fishing. Using my old weather stick, moon calculations, along with the barometer readings and cloud cover I have found over the years that fish bite the same time as deer or ?? is out feeding, so…don’t make much difference which one you want to go after.  Also now I will be adding a bit on the moon. Overhead: 5:11 PM Means what is says over your head.

   Well again here this morning the weather is a touch gloomy  Winds are light this morning at around 6 MPH coming in from the North.  Barometer is falling and at the moment sittin’ at 28.70 in Hg.    Have to say I even started the wood furnace this morning, mostly to take out the dampness in our home.  Seems the older one gets the more ones bones ache when the cold and dampness hits us here in Port Loring.  But as I say a bit of heat will remedy that problem. Today if you do decide on going out in the old boat and decide on doing some fishing the best times will be later on, heading on into this evening.  From 4:10 PM till 5:10 PM so maybe the old sunshine will make an appearance by then. One can only hope.  Fishing will start again from 8:45 PM till 9:45 if your a night owl. Not me though, I am sittin’ back with a nice hot tea reading a good book.  The sun will  rise at 7:15 AM and set at 7:01 PM today, days are starting to get shorter. Another gloomy old day out there.  But one thing about these days it gives one a bit of a chance to get some work done around the house.  I for one took down an old walnut tree yesterday, that was playing heck with my garden.  The leaves from it start to fall around mud summer and get into my vegetable garden and cause my plants to wilt.  So…..I been putting up with it for a few years now and decided on remedying the problem. Got a bit of firewood out of the old girl, so wasn’t a total loss. Just I hate cutting any trees down.  At any rate, weather looks like it will rain off and on all day, but you know, for some reason I am thinking we will see bit of sunshine too.  If you happen to have a covered boat and still can get out there on the water, well….the fishing will be good from 3:10 PM till 5:10 PM and then again for an hour at 8:00PM till 9:00 PM.   The sun will; rise at 7:14 AM and set at 7:03 PM. Good morning.  Well gloomy old day here this morning, but don’t despair as nicer weather is on the way for this afternoon.  So…that will give you some time to get things together to do some fishing.  Which is ok, as the old weather sticks says fishing won’t be to good till 2:12 PM to 4:12 PM.  It will also be pretty good from 7:23 PM till 8:23 PM.  Pretty precise times I am giving you huh? Well…it is all done according to the number of inches my weather stick moves each hour. Some days are more precise than others, like if I have sleep in my eyes or… forget to put on my glasses ha ha. At any rate they are pretty well right on the money.  The weather today will be cloudy with maybe a shower this morning, then changing to sun and clouds for this afternoon.  Temperatures will still be pretty warm in the 70s later on. Winds are calm this morning again, which is a good thing for boating, coming in from the South.   Barometer has been holding steady for the past few hours now, sitting at 29.03 in Hg.  Should start to inch up in a couple hours or so, which will get the fishing to biting.  Yesterday I was out on Duck Lake, Pigeon Lake and Wauguimakog, I hooked on a really nice pike trolling, using a red striped lure, brand name, Lucky Strike Serpent.  with a minnow hooked onto it. Works great and I wouldn’t hesitate to say every one should have one in their tackle box, for when the good old live bait just isn’t gettin’ a hit.  At any rate, we also hooked on a few bass and we had fish for supper.  Enjoy your day my friends, I am going to have my morning tea.  Sun this morning will Rise: 7:13 AM Set: 7:05 PM.  I will give fishing a three star rating today.  The best being five stars.

Well hows it going? Rain is in the forecast for today but we will see.  The old weather stick says fishing will be really good today with a rating of can’t beat that.  Fishing times will be from 1:16 PM till 3:16 PM and again at 6:50 PM till 7:50 PM.  Yesterday I was on Caribou Lake and had a pretty fair day.  My Cousin John caught a real nice Large Mouth Bass. I had a few bites but nothing got put in the boat on my part. But that’s the way it goes.  Today we will be heading to Pigeon Lake up above Duck Lake so have to see how it goes.  Just before rain usually is a good time but again, have to see if the weather holds. But…we won’t melt.  Today the sun  Rise: 7:11 AM & Set: 7:07 PM  So have a great day my friends.

So how you all dong this morning?  Great looking day out there, for fishing or what every you plan on doing.  One thing is for certain, you should make getting outside your main goal for the day, with it being so nice.  Winds this morning are calm from the South West.  Them warm breezes of the south is what we like up here in the north, especially this time of year. Today it will get up into the 70’s with lots of sunshine.  Barometer is rising this morning slightly, sitting right now at 29.32 in Hg.  Fishing today will be  Better than the past few days.  Times this morning will be from 11:29 AM till 1:29 PM and then again for an hour or so from 5:53 PM till 6:53 PM, so no reason on earth why you shouldn’t catch some fish today. Kind of like a lottery ticket. If you don’t buy one you will never win. Same goes for fishing, if you don’t put the line in the water you will never put fish in the frying pan.   Our big old sun will Rise: 7:10 AM Set: 7:09 PM today.  Looks like it will show itself for a full 12 hours today, what could be better?   So my friends….take advantage of this day, letting Mother Nature lead to where you should be.

I  know the latter is only for an hour but, hey, I can’t help it if they are only going to feed for an hour tonight.  At any rate if you catch your limit in one hour what more can you ask for, right?  This morning though will be the best.
